A large state grant will help bring music to children attending the Slippery Rock Student Government Association’s Preschool and Childcare Center.
Pennsylvania’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning has awarded the center a five year, $1.4 million Pre-K Counts grant.
Starting the week of September 10th, children attending the preschool will engage in a 45 minute session involving the exploration of movement and play with music at Swope Music Hall.
Sessions will include a musical petting zoo as well as character building activities where student’s movements are set to music. Sessions will also benefit SRU Music Education majors participating in the program.
