Former NCAA Division II Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Martin signed Wednesday with the Los Angeles Rams’ practice squad.

Martin, a Slippery Rock and West Mifflin grad, rejoined the organization after he was cut nearly three weeks ago.

Martin signed with the Seattle Seahawks after the NFL Draft but was waived before getting picked up by Los Angeles.

He played in three preseason games and had a sack against the Oakland Raiders.

Slippery Rock said Martin will earn $7,600 per week on the practice squad.

A four-time All-American, Martin set the NCAA all-time sacks record, with 56, and became the Division II career leader in tackles for loss, with 92.5.

He also was an academic All-American.
