Former Slippery Rock University pitching coach John Kovalik has been hired by the Houston Astros to work with pitchers in their minor league system.
Kovalik pitched for The Rock from 2011-14, finishing 11-11 with 16 saves and 98 strikeouts. He was SRU’s pitching coach the past two seasons.
