The first public school district in Butler County to head back to class will welcome students to a new school year on Wednesday.
The Slippery Rock Area School District begins its 2019-2020 year. The district has two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. The middle and high schools are located directly across the street from Slippery Rock University on Kiester Road.
The Freeport Area School District will welcome its students back to class on Thursday.
Most of the county school districts will start school next week.
