The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has a new home run king.
Slippery Rock first baseman Tyler Walters launched his 46th career home run in the third inning of the first game of a home twinbill Wednesday against Alderson Broaddus to become the conference’s all-time leader in homers.
The senior from Saegertown added another round-tripper in the second game of the Rock’s sweep. He finished 3 for 6 with three runs scored and five RBIs as Slippery Rock (25-11) won by scores of 13-8 and 12-7.
He leads the PSAC this season with 11 homers.
Walters began the day tied with Shippensburg’s Jake Kennedy with 46 career homers. Kennedy graduated last year.
